Some of the rich deep color tone comes from Leica's unique lenses. If you watch a video on their lens design and engineering you'll get why they are peerless. It's like Porsche says about their cars, "Accept no substitute.". I played with a Q at the local pro shop's bi-annual open house. The Leica rep just happened to have one with him and said the demand was through the roof and that's why it's so hard to find one. I was tempted to pick up the only one they had in stock but for a single focal length $4250+tax is too rich for me. I'll stick with my paltry X70!

I handled a Q when it first came out at the local camera store which is also a Leica store.  I captured some images and posted on Flickr.  The images were just of the parking lot and store.  I guess there is a lot of interest in the Q because the 3 images seem to average about 50+ hits per day and have total hits exceeding 12k each.  If I ever won the lotto, the second thing I would buy would be a Q (the first being a Bentley-you do need a really nice car to drive your Leica around).

The Q is a fabulous camera, especially when the side grip is in place.  It feels like it is a pure extension of your hand.  However, the cost is a bit prohibitive.
