Almost forgot!

The T6i is surprisingly light. I have picked up the 70D in Sams club and it's like carrying a brick. Not so with the T6i. I can say it would be no problem to carry it all day. It easily compares with the SL1 in that respect. Being so light you may think it feels "cheap". Not so. I think this is one major advantage of the Rebel line. They may not have all the bells and whistles of the the 7D, 70D, 80D type of cameras but they certainly won't cause orthopedic problems if you carry it all day!

What you are really buying is a sensor and firmware. With the new 24mp sensor and the new digic firmware I see no reason why this camera in the right hands can't compete with the D series minus a second or 2 difference in changing settings.

Thanks again and remember I am certainly not a pro and this is simply a feeble attempt at a review of the camera I am still learning things about every time I use it.

First off, let me congratulate you on your review. Hardly what I would call a feeble attempt. In fact it was quite a good review. That said concerning IQ and build I prefer using a camera which feels solid in my hands and has some weight. Guess I'm just old fashioned. I still use my 500D and 350D quite often when going on shoots and will use my 50D when on a professional shoot. Whilst many of the newer models have made vast upgrades to their sensor and included features some of which I must honestly say in my opinion were unnecessary I am disappointed in the build quality and thus my reason for not upgrading. If I were to upgrade however I would probably go for the 70D having used it a bit.

Congrats on the upgrade and happy shooting.
