Major SD card problem after trip

Re: To avoid that, I think you need this:
1

In my case a soft home made folder to hold umpteen 16g cards. They are all numbered and on a long trip I start at number 1 and work my way through towards number 15 or whatever is the top count.

As each card is nearly full then it is swapped and the one coming out has the write protect switch slipped to protect. Each card is backed up nightly to the netbook and also to a USB drive.

If some suspicious hiccup happens with a card then it is swapped out immediately and sort it out later. Seems sensible to have maybe twice as many cards as you think you may need and not have one giant card that holds a whole holiday.

When I get home I have the cards intact, a day dated folder set in the netbook and a copy of that set on the USB drive plus a direct copy of each card on the USB drive. Lots of backup in case of some weird error.

Regards....... Guy
