Anybody see the numbers from Nikon on the expected life of the shutter on the D500?

ruined my whole day. If this is like a Car Warranty I killed mine two days after I got it:200,000 actuations @ 10 fps = 20,000 seconds = 333.334 minutes = 5.553 = hours
Jeez who wants a camera that will only last a little over 5.5 hours!
Why that means it would wear out at the rate of $363.64 an hour!
Its crap Im sending mine back!
You are dangerous with math...lol.200,000 actuations @ 10 fps = 20,000 seconds = 333.334 minutes = 5.553 = hours

Warranty is 2 years, you can get the shutter replaced a few times....200,000 actuations @ 10 fps = 20,000 seconds = 333.334 minutes = 5.553 = hours

Really? Isn't the shutter something like wear-prone part? If it fails after 2000 shots, it's faulty. If after 200.000 then it just wore out according to design.Warranty is 2 years, you can get the shutter replaced a few times....200,000 actuations @ 10 fps = 20,000 seconds = 333.334 minutes = 5.553 = hours

I am told by my dealer it is 2 years, I am sticking with it until somebody else tells me otherwise.....Is the warranty 1 year or really 2?
The same here in the Netherlands. You typically get an additional year from Nikon USA when you register the lens, body, or flash, bringing it to two years.

In my first weekend with a D500 I apparently used 4.75% of its expected life. At that rate mine will only last 40 days. That means I'll have to buy a second one in June!My first day out with the D500 and trying to shoot some water sports I went through over 2000 shots within a few hoursat that level of usage thats only 100 days before I'd hit the 200,000 number that the shutter is rated for. Does not sound like a lot! back to single shot with me ~B
