- One zip containing ( readme and a second zip with installation files) ?
(2) - One zip containing mod-installation and included in them a readme, which will get left on the SDcard?
(3) - One zip, a readme and the installation file in a sub-directory, in which the installation files are located?
The objective should be that the zip should be self contained: no dependency on externally stored information should be required in order to be able to make it work.
That objective might be achieved by:
(2) above: advantage: readme available for future reference, but not really needed for mod operation - IMO not the best option because no one will read the readme off a sdcard that lives in the camera.
or (3) above: disadvantage is that the mod is not installable by simple unzip on the SD card
or (4): my proposal: have the current zip file, add a comprehensive readme in the root of the zip file, and erase the readme as part of the install process.
Advantages:
- Those that do know how to use it, do not need to do anything special/different for upgrade purposes - they should still simply upzip the content on a sdcard.
- Those that do not know how to use it, will open the zip and will see the readme which will teach them what they need to do with the archive to install it and what are the capabilities that are added to the camera by installing it.
NB. having two zip files defeats the purpose because you cannot guarantee that they will be distributed together.
This is quite acceptable for me. I hope everyone will be happy now.
