Noise GH4 reduced due to new firmware compared to G7?

Hello everyone,

I am still looking for a good second camera. I almost opted for the GH2 and hack it, but I felt I should go for a new model.

I am from Europe, so the GH4 has a video limit and so does the G7 (1080p AVCHD as well). The noise levels from the G7 are far better than that of the GH4 when it came out. But has it changed with the new firmware?

I ordered the GH4R (which has the new Log and no video time restriction), but the G7 seems like such a good alternative. If only I weren't living in Europe...

Though I admire 4K, I would at least want a second camera that can record in 1080p with NO 30 minute limit, IN EUROPE, which is good in low-light.

The picture quality of the camcorders I checked were really bad.

I am satisfied with my LX100 (actually the Leica model).

Do you see any alternative that can support the LX100 as a second camera (especially for low-light) with no video restriction?

My previous phone broke some weeks ago and I actually ordered an iPhone SE, because it has pretty decent 4K (considering it's a 600 dollar phone). There's even a guy on YouTube who uses both the LX100 and the iPhone 6/6s/SE lens and it's pretty doable.

From what I gather, the GH5 is on its way. I understand that technology is always going forward, but buying a GH4R realising a newer model is within 6 months doesn't feel right.
