Hi,

Currently I've Canon 50 f1.8(Which performs really well), Canon 55-250(Very poor with image quality) and almost dysfunctional 18-55 on Canon 550D body. I am planning to buy Canon 80D. I gad enough of poor image-quality of 55-250, now I am really focusing on sharpness and image quality of imagesfor my general purpose lens. But I still have this confusion going on, which lens should I adopt for Canon 80D, Canon 17-55 f/2.8 or Canon 15-85 f/3.5-5.6?

I am looking for working on stock projects now.

Please help.

I think Pixhead has "left the building" without telling us how he/she really plans to use the lens. So, I'll just throw in my two 1/2 cents (inflation) worth of "general" comments:

I had the 15-85 back when I had my 50D. I loved the lens for its versatility, great IQ and very effective image stabilization. Obviously, it's not the fastest lens, but a great general purpose lens and very sharp. The one negative that stands out in my mind about the lens is there was what I would describe as a "color cast" with the lens...hard to describe...kind of a "dark" cast. However, a very sharp lens and very versatile, but a bit over priced these day's (IMHO).
