not loving 760D video...

I picked up a 760D/T6S right after they came out. As far as photo quality, I am very happy. But the video quality I find dissapointing.

When I compare shots with this camera with ones taken with my previous Canon (550D/T2i) I see a marked image quality improvement. I like to think that I have been making an effort to be a better shooter. Practice composition techniques and not rely on one single setting of my camera every day.

However, the video quality is making me mad. It's very very compressed and when you try and do anything to the footage in After Effects, Speedgrade or Premiere it just falls apart and gets noisy. I've done a few things, such as borrowing a pair of lights and showering my little studio in a ton of light so I can film at lowest ISO with the iris closed up a bit. But this has done very little to improve the footage over the stuff I shot with just a couple cheap bulbs.

I will say that what I am working on is an obscure type of animation which requires some post processing.

I suppose Canon has to maintain some vertical segmentation of products. But 24mbp? obscene.

Canon EOS Rebel T6s (EOS 760D / EOS 8000D)
