Pana 20/1,7: low light savior
5

Have used a borrowed M Zuiko 45/1,8 and loved the IQ and brightness. But it's not an allround FL so decided I want a shorter lens with similar characteristics. Tried to buy the new 25/1,7 for 99€ but B&H cancelled my order. In the past I have felt limited by the lack of a fast lens for museums and interiors where tripods are not an option. With a trip to Bologna coming up, I decided to get the 20/1,7. It really opened up new possibilities. With this lens I managed to catch some examples of Bologna´s incredible architectural and art treasures without going beyond ISO 800 which my GX7 handled very well. I haven't noticed the much derided slowness but then I don't do action photography. It does make very faint funny noises but I don't do much video either. IQ is every bit as good as reputed. Didn't expect a new lens could boost the fun factor as much as this one has. Price for used specimen in mint condition with protective filter, import taxes and all was less than 270€. Very reasonable.
