Re: I want tack sharp images, Canon 17-50 or15-85?

I have used both, I sold my 15-85 when I  bought the 17-55.  I did that for one reason (and I'm really surprised no one has brought it up that I noticed) - low light indoors!  There is no comparison - none.  the 15-85 is a wonderful landscape lens but is only so-so in low light.  The 17-55 f/2.8 is absolutly stellar in low light. If low light photography is a priority, there is no other choice other than primes - but the constant f stop zoom on the 17-55 is great.  I do miss the wide angle 15mm for landscapes, but less than I appreciate the quality of the indoor low-light photos I get with the 17-55.

I'm using a 70D and a 7Dmk2.
