I would be flat out getting a decently sharp 1/30 pic with a 12mm lens, let alone a 100-400.

Excellent review and discussion of your photo journey. In honesty, I don't need this dang lens and if I had it I would just waste time messing around taking unimportant pix of the occasional bird or whatever just because it was there.

But I keep compulsively looking at the great work coming up on this forum and longing for the lens simply because it is obviously a great tool -- and I could have made such good use of it 20 years ago! LOL.
