Re: GX8 - Disappointed with shuttershock

Tyson Robichaud tested his GX8 for shutter shock (2016 March 18) and could find no evidence for it.
I've just done a similar test of my GX8 using both the 12-35mm lens and the 35-100mm lens. I found no evidence for the SS effect with either lens. I set my camera up on a stable tripod, turned image stabilization off, set the camera to shutter priority at 1/60s, and used a time delay of either 2s or 10s. I took a series of three shots with each lens wide open, using three different shutter modes, 1) three shots with the mechanical shutter, 2) next, three shots with the electronic shutter set to ON, and 3) a final set of three shots with the electronic shutter set to AUTO (an option that's available with the latest firmware update). I forced the lens to defocus between each shot and refocused each time using the AFC setting (my GX8 is set up to do back button focusing). I shot JPEG + RAW. I looked at each image at 100% in Lightroom 6. Bottom line: every shot was as sharp as can be and there was no difference between the shots taken with the mechanical shutter and those taken with the electronic shutter.
I've had my GX8 for 6 months now. I've tested it extensively and carefully against both my Nikon D7200 and my Sony A6000, both handheld and with a tripod. In all that time I've never seen any evidence for shutter shock with the GX8.
I got rid of the tripod for the tests.
I don't know for sure if the GX8 has SS problems, i don't have one, i can only speak about my EM1.
With my EM1 on the tripod i could hardly see any SS, i guess the tripod dampened the vibrations, but i consistently got SS when hand holding with proper technique (leaned against a wall, camera well braced etc) at speeds from 1/80 to 1/250 and 25mm. I got sharper pictures hand holding at 1/50 than at 1/125 or 1/160, consistently.
Sure, hand holding introduces a variable for proper testing, but, if the results are consistent across a great number of pictures, you get a pattern from were you can draw conclusions. I tested the camera under the same conditions i expect to use it and get good results.
I know you said you also tested hand holding, and i am glad you don't have problems. I am just sharing my experience.
