All I wanted to know was if this lens would perform like F2.8 in low light situation, I always knew the depth of field would be larger than FF eq F2.8 but as long as i can get same/similar exposure as you would expect from F2.8 lens then that is all I care about.

Wedding reception would be my primary use for this lens so i will need it to perform in low light situations. if the lens does that then I would be very happy buyer?

Here is an apples-to-apples comparison.

Take a 6D with the canon 24-85 f/4L and compare to an NX1 with a 16-50 S lens. Suppose we are at 75mm f/4.2 on the canon and 50mm f/2.8 on the samsung so apples-to-apples. Suppose we want to get wedding guests posing so we can go down to 1/60s and get a sharp exposure. Suppose the light in the room says that the NX1 f/2.8 is at ISO800. On the 6D at f/4.2, you'd need to go up to ISO1800 to get the correct exposure. If you look at DXO Mark (http://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Canon/EOS-6D---Measurements) (http://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Samsung/NX1---Measurements), the SNR is 32 decibel on the NX1 at ISO800 and around 29 decibel on the 6D at ISO2000.  So the samsung technically beats the canon in terms of lower noise.

Sony A7rII at ISO2000 is almost spot on with the NX1 at ISO800.  This is what I mean by "equivalent" technology.    Now if you compared any of these guys to a 5DmkI, they would blow the 5DmkI out of the water since it is "old technology".

If you go down to base ISO, the FF will always win.  But it's hard to get down to base ISO on FF at reasonable "people moving around" shutter speed in inside lighting without having a very narrow DOF (and much more expensive/heavy FF f/2.8 lenses).

Bottom line: Enjoy the Samsung glass.  It's certainly not depreciating in value now that Samsung is discontinuing production.  It might even appreciate.
