Re: GX8 - Disappointed with shuttershock

I had the Gx8 since it first came out Aug 2015. To be honest I have given up on it for different reasons and one of them is the shutter shock issue.

I recently bought a Sony A6300 body only as a travel camera to replace my Gx8 but while trying to figure out which Sony lens to get for the A6300 my family vacation came up and since I did not have a lens for the A6300 I ended up taking the Gx8 and the 14-140mm MK2 after all to our family vacation. I also took the Panasonic 15mm F1.7 prime for low light shots. Because of the shutter shock issue that I have experienced many times I took 99% of the photos with electronic shutter on. To my surprise out of 1240 images non were ruined due to shutter shock. I was very happy about this. So yes you can avoid shutter shock even with the 14-140mm and Gx8 combo with electronic shutter. I was also happy to see that 2 batteries per day was enough for the daily photos and videos.

However some videos were ruined due to some weird IS jitter that I cant explain.

I had the T3i with the kit lens as backup just in cases the Gx8 quit on me and managed to get just over 300 photos with it. Still like the Canon colors vs Panasonic.
