Re: Flash speeds

I have never come across a flash that slow. For example, modest Mecablitz flash has a duration of 1/500 sec to 1/30,000 sec (depending on the exposure, distance ofsubject from flash, etc.).

My general experience as well, but there are flashes designed to maintain light for the entire sync period with a duration of longer than 1/100.  That is usually a special mode the user has to select though (it is for using the flash at shutter speeds above the sync speed).
