I have given up on this topic long ago. why does it matters whether it is f2.8 or f4.2

It matters.

If you are deciding between 50mm f/1.8 on APS-C and 75mm f/2.7 on full frame, then they are "equivalent". If you are deciding between 50mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/2.7 both on APS-C, The difference is more than one stop. That's a BIG difference. The bokeh balls will all be 1.5 times the radius. There will be 2.25 times more light. It's like being in a room, having one curtain open, and then deciding to open a second curtain.

It does not matters. U look at lenses more then you look at your photo.

Do try to use Sony A7 with the same 55f18 lenses and take a photo with both full frame mode and crop mode. Then you try to use a sel1118 on A7 and take a photo with both full frame mode and crop mode.

With this test, you will understand on the meaning of equivalent and what does this equivalent means to you.

Then you start talking about your BIG difference.

I understand how cropping and image circles work.

I am in awe about how obtuse these discussions can get when they degenerate into insinuating that other people don't understand things.
