100-300mm on GH4 --- mainly birdies

I dug out the 100-300 because of:
- the excellent work displayed by the well known bird shooters on this forum (thank you!),
- the possibility of GASing the PL 100-400*,
- the arrival of migrating warblers in a few weeks, and
- the obvious fact that I needed practice.
So I uploaded a bunch of recent photos (29) to my album here: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/0796805747/albums/20160418-100-300mm-on-gh4-birds
Here are a few samples:

This dead birch is about 5 metres away from the woodpecker nest --- a convenient food source.

This is one of my more interesting photos ... to me at least. I think that I was motivated to shoot it by one of Julie Blackmon's images .
YES! The ice is deciding to melt ("go out" as we say). A very strange winter as we had no ice fishing this year. Usually 2-3 feet of ice in February.
.
Song sparrow in cover, as usual.

The expert eye will notice the obstructions obscuring this very long shot of the Crested Cormorants, just arriving for their annual gorging on the spawning smelts running up our rivers this week.

There are a bunch of additional images of birdies, some flying, at the DPR album .
*Yes, I have the PL 100-400mm lens on order at Henry's. I figure that I am not yet ready for the MZ 300mm f/2.8 PRO prime. So I'll make the intermediate step and get the PL lens.
[No, I am not shooting from the truck any longer. It is on its last legs (wheels?). Now I use a little SUV as a smaller mobile hide/blind.]
