From X-E1 to X-Pro1 - Advice needed

Dear All,

With the X-Pro2 release and the latest drop in price of the X-Pro1, it was too tempting to grab a used one on ebay. I just bought one tHis morning.

I really like my X-E1 and all the WYSIWYG thing. However I really miss an OVF at time, I find it hard at time to compose or "think the scene" when seen through an EVF with somehow limited DR and laggy behavior.

Now, understand it is going to be a different experience than TTL view like with a DSLR. Especially considering the parallax error and framing lines accuracy.

My thinking it as follow:

  1. OVF is good for: landscape, street, full body portrait at reasonnable distance (say 35mm 1.4 at 2~5 m)
  2. EVF is good for:Macro, architecture, close up portrait, B&W shooting

Am I wrong?  Does anyone uses the viewfinder differently ?

With regard to the parallax error and framing line accuracy, which lens is worse 18mm f/2 or 35mm f/1.4 ?

Also I always found the X-E1 EVF too sharp and contrasty. Somehow my Nikon V1 EVF with lower resolution is more comfortable to use ? Should I expect the same improvement with the X-Pro 1 considering it has the same resolution as the Nikon V1?

Anyway, I will now have the choice between X-E1 and X-Pro1 so it is nice, same camera performances, same image quality but different shooting experience thanks to different viewfinder.

Regards
