I'm still confused by this. Anyhow have managed to get it the 50-150 for around $900 brand new so will see when it arrive if the lens lives up to the high expectation.

One good way of learning is to buy a light meter. In this you have only to put in ISO, f number and shutter speed. It does not matter which size sensor you have in the camera. The f number being the ratio of aperture and focal length adjusts for the crop of the sensor which is why it is such a brilliant concept.

Forget about full frame. If you do not have a full frame camera the performance of full frame cameras is completely irrelevant. Just enjoy and learn the kit you have and leave competitive photography to others. Your lens is f2.8 as stated.

I disagree, it WAS a brilliant system in the film days when picking an ISO was harder to do and they wanted to keep it the same between different cameras and different size film stock.

Now adays you would never need to replicate the same exposure settings between differnt cameras but you definitely would want to replicate the same FL/DOF/background blurr witch is why crop factor and equivalent FL/apperature is alot more important now adays then exposure
