XF 18-55: double image in out-of-focus areas?

Hello!

I'm attaching a crop of an image I took recently with the XF 18-55. The crop shows both in-focus and out-of-focus regions of the image. Pay attention to the out-of-focus regions; you may need to view the original size to see what caught my attention.

Notice the doubling of the text? Meanwhile the girls' heads are perfectly fine.

I've noticed this before when taking photos in bright daylight, and thought it was due to OIS, so I disabled that, and indeed those photos improved. But here OIS was off and the effect still hasn't gone away.

Is this considered normal with the XF 18-55? If not, does this phenomenon have a known name, and does anyone have experience getting it fixed?
