If there is a camera shop or retail store that you do business with, maybe they would put in one of their batteries in, to see if that helps. You could give them the idea that you are considering buying a new camera or a new battery. The key is, if you are buying things from them, they sometimes will evaluate the camera for free if it only takes them a few minutes. It helps to have that second professional opinion.

If another charged up battery from someone else doesn't work, then you'll have to make the decision whether you want to have it repaired or want to upgrade (or even buy the same camera again or something else). If it were me, I would upgrade. I have three Canon T2i/T3i (550D/600D) cameras and if any of them breaks or is damaged, I'm upgrading. It's a good reason to get something better, as long as it's affordable and fits our budgets.

+1 good advice.

Best of luck luck.
