If you make a small search in this forum, you'll find a really large number of users who got the SX60 expecting it to be an upgrade over the SX50, then immediately sell it and buyback the SX50. The (few) extra features of the SX60 had a negative effect over image quality, especially in terms of ISO.
If you want an overall good bridge camera, with long zoom, RAW support and an affordable price then the SX50 is a super safe bet.
There are other bridge cameras that can produce better pictures, but they're much heavier, bulkier and much more expensive.
Nope! I'm an SX50 admirer, but P610 has faster AF, better zoom and better IQ, is lighter and smaller than SX50. It lacks RAW, for me not a deal breaker at such a tiny sensor, but B700 will have RAW also, but significantly more expensive.
The subsequent Canon superzooms (SX60, SX530 and SX540) don't deserve attention anymore
All the best,
Augustin
I wouldn't say the Nikon p610 has better IQ, I would say they are very close to each other, the p610 maybe a touch sharper at full zoom, but the canon colors are slightly better. I agree it has faster AF and better evf but the canon sx50 has RAW and I have heard faster shot to shot. I would say they would be the two bridge zooms I would pick for value for money. Just my 20c worth.
Cheers
Steve.
