I know how you feel when you do something "stupid". Lord I have been there. A little advice:

I travel with a small laptop and download the images every night. I do not use the same SD card until I get another backup off the laptop. Once that is done, I do the full format of the card and put it back in the que. I travel with two cameras and 8 SD cards.

One of my travel buddies lost his (probably a format) and I used Rescue Pro. The only time I have ever used it. It worked.

Definitely one of those days when I'm happy to be stupid, Phil

I certainly take your point about nightly back-ups. I've always said that I'd take a laptop if I was away for a couple of months or more (some chance!) but it just doesn't quite appeal to me during a 2-3 week long trip. Prefer to get away from it all a bit more than that. A few years ago I had a back-up device that is now too out of date, and I'm going to shop for an updated one right now after that scare.

I used ResucePro last night and it was a good product - allows you to see first if it will work before buying and I got a call from an actual Sandisk human this morning asking if I needed any further help - that's without even having bought the thing.
