Upgrade from X-M1 due to lack continuous autofocus

I successfully invested in the Fuji system by going for the cheap X-M1 to try the waters. And then bought the 35mm f2, which I like alot.

We've got a new puppy a few days ago and the lack of continuous autofocus while half-pressing the shutter is kind of annoying. Makes it really hard to get any photos that aren't staged.

I'm quite happy with the image quality, in fact I find it very good.

I'm a bit torn between spending way too much money on the upcoming X-T2 or upgrade to the X-E2s or X-T10 now.

The X-T1/2 kind of defeats the purpose of going with a mirrorless system, as I wanted a small and compact camera for everyday use. However, it does have a fairly large viewfinder and a tiny biy more performance?

My main concern with upgrading to X-E2s and X-T10:

- Size of viewfinder. X-T1 is larger, but is the smaller evf still better than ovf in entry level dslr? D40 and D90 was a pain to use(too small, impossible to determine focus).

- Focus speed. I've read reviews on the X-pro2 and it doesn't seem to improve a whole lot from the focusing on X-T1. How does the cheaper bodies compare? Previous camera experience includes D40 and D90, how does it compare to those in terms of tracking?

- Megapixels. Iso performance. Is there a very big difference between the newer 24mp sensor and the 16mp sensor?

Thanks in advance
