Tamron 16-300 VC PZD II lens. My first true superzoom.
6

I received this lens on a deal which made it 350 dollar for rebate. I was looking for something that I can take travelling, with good range, taking decent quality images.

I have tried the lens on a canon 70D.

Pluses.

1. obvious range

2. Good performance through out range stopped down, on the wide end, it is good at 5.6 and very good at f8. on the tele end, its decent even wide open

3. Good VC for stills and videos.

4. Ok Bokeh at 300mm.

Minuses.

Slow focusing. specially strugles on the longer end if not in very good light. In video mode, it even refused to try to focus at times at 300mm.

I think its a decent travel lens given the range.

here is full size shot at 300 mm wide open.
