Do GH4 firmware updates need to be done sequentially?
Do GH4 firmware updates need to be done sequentially?
Mar 31, 2016
I am using a GH4 for stills. I just wanted a smaller second camera than my Canon, and liked the ergonomics of the GH4, but haven't bothered with some of the videocentric updates, so am still on firmware 2.0. Firmware 2.1 was improvements for video. I thought 2.2 was just the anamorphic mode (but have just seen it adds 1/16000 electronic shutter speed, which might be useful). 2.4 is again a video improvement. But I would like to try firmware 2.5. Do I need to install the other updates first, and would it cause problem to someone who wanted to use the camera for video work if it was sold at some point if I have installed 2.5 before doing the other updates? If I wanted the faster electronic shutter speed in update 2.1 would I need to do that before doing 2.5?
Any help gratefully received.
