My thoughts on the X-Pro2 coming from Nikon (D800)
8

I decided to switch from Nikon (D800) to Fuji. I was looking for a more portable camera and lens system than the D800+24-70mm combo that does not compromise on quality. I've had the X-Pro2 since launch, and after using it for almost a month, I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed by Fuji's system. The camera is just what I was looking for - a light, compact, very capable camera. And Fuji lenses are superb. I particularly love the 35mm f2. I love Fuji's colours and film simulations.

I was aware of possible "shortcomings" of mirrorless cameras compared to DSLRs. My kind of photography is the type where I take my time with a shot, so any autofocusing differences are lost on me. I feel the X-Pro2 suits my needs in this department, and is plenty fast. As for full frame vs cropped sensors, again, it's a non-issue for my shooting style.

Just thought I'd share my experience in case someone is considering a similar transition.

Here are some of my favourite shots so far.

Cheers,
