Tripod, IBIS & OIS
1

Question #1 - should I use my EM5ii IBIS or the 100-300's Mega OIS? I already looked at this in the thread linked in the top post, at a wide range of shutter speeds and 2 focal lengths (100 & 300).

Here, I held the aperture and shutter speed constant (f5.6, 1/30) and varied the focal length. I deliberately picked 1/30 as viable for handholding at 100mm but a stretch at 300mm. As FL increases, the shutter speed is getting longer relative to the 1/eqFL rule, so sharpness should drop off. However, sharpness also drops off due to lens performance, so I shot with a beefy tripod as a benchmark. All of these use e-shutter to avoid any SS issues.

On the tripod (blue), the lens loses some sharpness (20-25%) going from 100 to 300, but there's nothing like the steep drop above 275 that's sometimes mentioned.

IBIS (red) is nearly as good as the tripod at 100mm, but isn't holding up as well at 300mm.

OIS (green) is well behind at all focal lengths.
