Help me decide. Replacing my Panasonic 14-45 zoom with Panasonic 12-35?

Not the x2, the Ex-Tele with the M setting which is x1.4. The x2 takes you down to 4MPX, still not bad, but…

The thing I like about the x1.4 is that there is are plenty of pixels in use and there is no extensive reprocessing of the image, just the grab out of the middle which s always going to be the sharpest part of the image too.

However, Trevor has shown a number of times that the 2x on the G7 is vastly improved over the G6 and GX7. The GX8 likewise.

The 12-35 is a darn expensive lens.. but when you see the results...whooo!..I had the Oly 12-40 but found it too bulky/heavy and found myself leaving it at home.. the 12-35 is just so compact & light and that 12mm is light years more usefull than 14mm. I have the pancake 14mm which is a joyous wee pandrop and is such fun on the G6.

I used the pancake 14 extensively as my basic walk around lens, but sold it in favor of the 12-32, a little gem (which has some SS issues with both the G6 and GX7 but is so good in other respects that I am willing to work around those).

and I didn't realise my Oly 45mm would get me a free slot in heaven..but if Henry says so.. it must be right😀

Gee, I hope so -- Iwould be worried about the glass cracking and melting in another place.
