Xpro1 with 35mm 1.4 replace 5D classic

I have the X-T1, no problem with focus speed with XF 18-55 and 50-140, not even when using the other points, X-T1, X-T10 and X-E2 all are newer and have faster and more accurate focus system.

But my feeling is that compared to my old Canon clunker is that focusing is greatly superior both in speed and accuracy:

Try to search in any of the mirror-less groups for:

• Front and back focusing
• Useless outer points
• People which insist on using only the central point, hint it isn't the 90s anymore
• Unreliable focusing
• Unhelpful and unsuitable advise and technique like focus-and-recompose which due to lens design defects NEVER worked for digital

I was actually just ready to write that the AF issue appears to be significant.. particularly when you concider most in this forum are in fact x owners who have experience with this model. I love the retro style and the fact ill actually bribg the camera with me rather than leaving it behind due to size.. howevet, buying for style over substance is never good.. Im wondering at this point if I shouldnt just buy a small pancake wide and a nifty 50mm 1.8 and carry the brick on the 10 mile hike.. yes its 10 yes old but still serves well.. well, this is why i asked your opinion.. keep the big 50mm 1.4 in the ca to be used for the rest of the road trip and use it hntil the mirror flies off.. might just be the most practical approach at this point.. sometimes newer isnt allways better..
