I've used my S mount lenses on the NX500. As compared to using it on my NX1 where I hold the camera and support the lens, on the NX500 I tend to hold the lens itself. No issues.
I do the same. It does make it a bit harder for me to adjust the settings and use the touch screen as efficiently as I do with a smaller lens.
I'm still looking at getting an NX1 to with the s lens. I know this thread isn't related to the performance of the 16-50s but for my current needs I'm not sure if it would get much use from me. In that range I have the 20, 30 and the 45. Soon i'll also have a 35 manual. This gives me a ton of options with different features in that same range. Even my 50-150 sometimes takes a back seat to my rokinon 85. I just can't duplicate that nice bokeh that lens offers. In exchange of that I get a really sharp picture that is sometimes a bit too sharp.
It may work for static subject and plenty of time to focus. I take pictures of my kids, mostly, and since I bought 16-50, i use primes very rarely, mainly 30mm at home. Other reasons is OIS - very useful, esp for movies.
There is a guy who sometimes post here that hang his 50-150 from a strap instead off the camera. It allowed him to walk around without having to hold onto that lens the whole time.
