Please help me

Ajeya,

I looked at the photos on your web site. You have done very good work with your KR and the lenses you have. I see also that you considered the Sony Alpha 7rii which suggests that you have been leaning toward a full-frame camera but perhaps now are swinging back from mirrorless to the DSLR design.

From your photos I would guess you are in the military or perhaps in aerospace. I retired from Aerospace some time ago and while my interests are now different from yours, I have been in the Pentax APS-C "high end" for sometime, moving from the K20D to the K7 to the K5 to the K5ii and finally to the K3. I personally am not seriously considering a full-frame camera inasmuch as I'm old & would feel the extra weight. Also I have a huge collection of Pentax APS-C lenses and would hate to have to start collecting the more expensive (and heavier) full-frame lenses.

From an engineering standpoint and not because I have any special knowledge about the K1, there will be more likelihood of the K1 having bugs than the K3ii. The K3ii is a very mature system. Bugs have been worked out of it in previous models and that has yet to happen to the K1. Of course I'm speaking as someone who has decided to stick with the APS-C. There have been cases of engineers getting it right the first time. I'm still driving the 2002 Jeep Liberty, the first year that came out, and it has been nearly perfect; so it does happen.

If you decide to stick with the APSC for now, I see that your KR has a built in flash. The K3ii does not; so you might consider the K3 instead of the K3ii if that is something you need.

Hi Lawerence.

Thanks for the detailed options. I just had a look at some of the sample images of k1 for High ISO and still its showing very good details which is somewhat tempting me to go for it and also tillable screen is something really nice to have. I think i will wait for some time for the k1 review and then go for k3II as per your suggestion.
