Compare panasonic 14-140ll with 35-100 f2.8

In my experience, the 35-100mm f/2.8 is very good from 35mm to approx 75mm wide open. But in the very long end, it must be stopped down to around f/5.6 for acceptable sharpness, which is quite disappointing.

If it's still as soft, it's going back. A $1,300 lens should easily outperform my $100 Oly 40-150, but it does not. In fact, the Oly is sharper. :\

I find that most cheap tele lenses are just as sharp at 100mm, as the Lumix X 35-100mm f/2.8, when used at f/5.6. Here are some comparisons:
