It looks a bit sharper toward the edges, that's if I pixel peep at 100% onscreen. In a properly sharpened 16"x21" print I'd have to look very closely to see any difference.

The two lenses are really designed for very different uses, so comparing them is a bit silly. I only did it as a way to get a sense of how good the 14-140 is. My conclusion is that the 14-140 is very good in absolute terms and absolutely exemplary for a 10X zoom. If you want a low-light workhorse, get the 35-100. If you want a convenient travel lens for use in good light, get the 14-140. And, if you want lenses that are either brighter or sharper, get primes. I have all of these because I do many kinds of work.
