I have Pentax KR with Sigma art 30mm ,Pentax 55-300mm,Sigma 10-20mm lens and now i want to upgrade to high end camera i would like to know which one i should consider K3II or K1 considering the price difference of 1000usd is it a good option to go for k3II ?

Upgrading to the K-1 will cost you more than 1000 USD more than an upgrade to the K-3II. You will need new lenses to go with the K-1, whereas the K-3II will accommodate all your current glass, and retain the field-of-view you are used to on your K-R (if that matters to you?).

I don't know about the Sigma Art 30mm, but the other two lenses have been tested as:

- Sigma 10-20mm: not usable below 14mm

- Pentax DA55-300: from usable at f/11 or with big loss in corner IQ only at the wide end, to difference but usable at full aperture with a small loss in corner IQ only at the tele end.

This is from tests executed on existing "FF" bodies, either Pentax film bodies or on mirrorless FF bodies using adapters. Results on a K-1 may be slightly different...

The difference in feature set between the K-3II and the K-1 will be minor compared to the huge difference between the K-R and the K-3II. The same goes for the Image Quality and overall performance of the body.

Tip: if you want the K-1 for its larger viewfinder, mounting the O-ME53 viewfinder loupe onto a K-3II will actually give you a bigger viewfinder as the K-1 without the loupe. The K-3II also features a full glass pentaprism compared to the K-R's relatively inferior pentamirror design.

Disclaimer: I am one of the Pentaxians that will probably stay with APS-C, hence my contribution to the thread may be biased by this decision...
