Nothing spectacular, I just want to make sure the phone doesn t draws too much energy for countless background tasks, so I can extend battery time. So far, it works out. Some people suggested to root that thing to get rid of "junk". Not sure.

you won't get the same battery life as your Nokia for a couple of reasons, the hardware uses more energy, that includes the higher resolution display and faster processors, and Android OS itself is not as efficient as Symbian in executing tasks.

To extend battery life, you'll need to give up some built-in conveniences such as the Location services, which can use the gps module and drains the battery constantly.

the other huge difference between N8 and CM1 is N8 doesn't have 4G LTE, this is especially energy consuming when you're in a spotty reception. so if you don't need 4G, turn off cellular data, or just stick to 3G which uses less power
