Three things that make me angry with Canon G9X
2

Hi

I just bought a Canon G9X. Overall I'm happy with it, since it is really pocketable and provides very good image quality.

These are however the three main negative points for me:

1) battery life: I hardly gets about ~120 shots (without flash) before the battery is empty. It may improve after a few more cycles and as soon as I don't spend more time playing with the menu but still, battery life is poor !

2) info display: one can partially choose what is displayed on the screen, which is nice, but as soon as one wants aperture/speed/ISO one is forced to set "Shooting info", that is  have almost everything on screen, which makes framing more delicate. I wish one could choose one by one the items to be displayed

3) I don't use Auto modes nor P mode (that one always uses largest aperture, which I often find not relevant). Instead I use Av mode. When powered on the camera remembers the last aperture value that was set, which is nice, however the control ring always resets to aperture setting. Since I almost systematically correct the exposure with the control ring, I wish that the ring remembers which setting it was used for, after powering off/on. I could also set the ring to set only the exposure compensation, but then it would be more complicated to change the aperture.

Hopefully issues 2 and 3 could be fixed fy firmware update.
