My budget lightweight low-light backpack solution..
1

This spring I will backpack through Indonesia for 5 weeks. I was really struggling what camera to bring. I own a (quite old) EOS 40d with the lovely Sigma 17-70mm (and some other lenses) but that combo was just too heavy to bring along.

Then I was weighing all pro's and cons for just relying on my iPhone 6, but I couldn't bare to accept the IQ-drop it would cause. So after a lot of reviews and consideration I ordered a really cheap (€339,-) EOS 100D body (SL1) and combined with my old 50MM 1.8 II it turned out to be a lovely (back-)package! It's also really good for low light situations. It feels like a winner! I know the 100D is a little bit out of date, but for this price I might even sell it after my trip with little devaluation and invest in something nice later on. (M4? 200D? 800D?)

My last doubt: Should I also buy a 24MM STM pancake to bring along? It's not the weight, nor the size and cost, and it provides a whole lot more freedom (also in macro) so I might as well...
