I can only tell you what I bought.

My first Fuji was an X100s which, as you know, has a fixed 23mm prime. I found that limiting so I bought an XT1 with the kit lens.

The next lens was a 55-200mm to extend the range. At that stage I had everything from 18mm to 200mm covered.

Because I like to do portraits of my grandchildren, I then bought a 56mm f1.2 which is really useful in low light as well.

I have now sold the X100s and bought an XPro2 and to go with it, a 35mm f2 on the basis that it was the focal length I mostly used on the kit lens. I could have gone for another kit zoom but decided that having a prime would suit me better.

There are times when I would like a wider angle lens but I can't decide which and in any case I really do not too many lenses to have to choose between.
