I do some photography as extra income, and recently covered a birthday party. The client complained that the pictures were too dark, obviously I disagree. She called another photographer who said they were dark....so I'm beginning to think there's something in it.

Is there something wrong with the way I shoot? The lens? How I process them in Lightroom [the photographer said I didn't. I do disclose that I only do minor edits, and not full on photo manipulation, as I don't really like it].

Is there something lost in the conversion from DNG to JPEG?

When I was using the 55-210, I was limited by the flash range [it's a Nissin i40].

As I side note, I've set my monitor to sRGB mode.
