Hi Guys,

I need your advice.

Family trip is coming up to Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce. I have a good old D100 and I guess it’s about time to upgrade it. I used to take lots of pictures always in RAW because the D100’s JPG was not very good. I was always happy with it.

A guy I selling his used D300 body + battery grip for $300 on craigslist , he said that the camera is in good condition with 50k actuations.

A brand new D3300 body is selling on Amazon for the same price.

I’d use it for mostly for landscape and family photography.

D3300 is a bit lighter –better for hiking- and brand new with warranty. But I'm leaning towards the D300.

What would you guys do?

I don’t want to spend more than $300.

I’m going to use my existing Nikkor lenses 50mm 1.4D, 18-35mm (3.5-4.5D), 70-300 (4-5.6D)

Thanks,

James

I would still go for the D300.

There is a reason I kept my D200 for all that time, resisting the lure of all the cameras that came before the D500, even though less expensive ones came along with more resolution.
