Overall I see the DL line as a very positive move by Nikon and a strong commitment to the CX line. Nikon just needs a flagship interchangeable lens camera to satisfy the rest of us. It's either in the works or will never happen. My guess is the former.

I am for the latter, sorry to be pessimistic. I would love to see a real enthusiast's V, and a new series of fast zooms, but I am not seeing that coming. I see Nikon moving to FF or APS-C ML, that will come soon. But the 1 line is over, IMO.

Thom has posted that, if the 1 is to survive, the new body would have to come before the DLs are available. Do you see that coming before June?

I recall seeing the J used by younger people in European cities the year after it was released. It was an interesting concept, but actually the J should have always been a compact. The V series has just been totally erratic in terms of features, for me they never got it right. I'd have opted for a slightly larger body, EVF included, and great external controls, a la LX100.

They are likely saving that for the larger sensored ML line.
