This is a tip I picked up from a video by Jerry Ghionis.

(1) shoot manual

(2) What ever the mode, check the histogram and expose to the right making sure that the highlights are not blown

(3) Adjust the final exposure in post. The beauty of this method is that the light is the same for all of the pictures taken in the same place. Then once you get the exposure of the first pictures right in post, you can use the same settings for all of the pictures.
