Good, but not so good

Colors are terrific and it has Kodak photo modes; Kodachrome, Kodakcolor, and Ektachrome. Each appear as it should. The modes do add some processing time and are only available in JPEG. Raw seems like a novelty, but when processed it does not have as much noise as other 2/3” sensors. Of all the raw processors out there only Kodak’s software translates it to a TIFF for editing. With good lighting and low ISO a Raw shot can look pass for a slightly larger sensor.

I found the clarity of the images improved if I changed the setting from 12MP to 10MP. The f2.8 28mm wide angle and the BSI CMOS sensor is able to capture lower light scene with a moderate quick shutter speed.

The Menu is rather clunky; such as scrolling from one line of options across to the next screen requires the user to press an arrow on screen at the end of the row. There is no menu button, the OK button acts as one when in different modes.

The processor is slow, It likely has minimal buffer RAM, as it can take a while to save pictures. Autofocus is rather accurate. but can be slow in day light to very slow in lower light or room light. Face detection works well.

AA batteries make it easy to find find replacements if traveling. Built in Image Stabilization works well for those long zoom shots with the up to 840mm equivalent lens.

The EVF has a dedicated button. It does look like a projection in a little booth, but is a decent resolution. The menu text is clear.

Over all its a well designed camera, with a sharp lens, and good capture quality… but rather slow from shot to shot and unusual menu system.
