the Neewer battery grips are pretty good quality and up to par with the Canon brand. I've always used them with no problems, but I haven't tried using AA batteries since I always buy like 5-8 aftermarket batteries whenever I buy a new camera as well as a rapid charger so I have no need using AA batteries.

The lithium batteries do last a long time if you use them to power up external speedlite flashes and they give me quite a few flashes. They are pretty expensive especially the Powerizer brand as opposed to Energizer

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I typically shoot RAW and JPEGs in Manual mode for Wildlife or Astro images / videos. Yesterday, during one of my wildlife sessions, I noticed that my first battery drained out after 300 shots. This includes few on screen shots reviews, 1-2 live mode shots and mostly viewfinder shots. Is 300 shots Ok for a typical canon battery? I am still in a dilemma if Battery grip is worth it.

Regards,

Sameer
