DL is just a RX100 equivalent (plus some)

Sony made a brilliant move when they introduced the RX100 (and successors). Here finally was a genuinely pocketable camera with a great lens that could give you results similar to a previous-generation DSLR (D300).

Nobody else saw it. They were all trying to put more onto their point-and-shoots that were being eaten away by smartphones.

Today everybody else is coming into the same market for a pocketable experts camera with some additional variants.

The DL doesn't compete with the N1 series which is not pocketable. It could even help the N1 by using the same parts and decreasing the cost through greater volume.
