Re: Having a hard time to select a lens for a dance performance shooting

If weight is a problem the best setup would be an Olympus E-M5 Mark II and the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 Pro lens which provides the picture angle of a FX 80-300mm f2.8. The lens is half the weight of the Nikon 70-200mm and the in-camera optical stabilization of the E-M5 Mark II is superb.

Consider 70-200mm f2.8 at 3.4 lbs versus Olympus 80-300mm f2.8 equivalent at 1.9 lbs.

On a DX camera another option is to find a good used copy of the Nikon compatible Sigma 50-200mm f2.8 HSM II lens (not the later OS lens that is twice as heavy). This lens provides outstanding autofocus in low light and excellent image quality and it is very light.
