Apart from Canon's own-brand lenses, what other makes of lens do usesrs here rate as being as good or virtually as good? I'm hoping to buy the 760D (or 750D) but would like to buy the body only with a good quality lens in the 18-55 or 18-135mm range that will give good results until such time as I can afford to choose from the ranges of Canon own-brand lenses. I'm not a great fan of kit lenses, hence this enquiry.

Do others here have experience of using non-Canon lenses which they rate as being good buys?

Many thanks.

for inexpensive starter lenses of good quality, you actually don't need to look further than Canon's 18-55 or 18-135. - even though they are kit, they are good.

so, best buy as kit, to get an even better price.

if  you mean you don't like the kit lenses because of aperture, and you want a faster aperture such as f2.8, yes, you can look at tamron and sigma.
