Canon Rebel SL1 / 100D next lens recommendations

Hi everyone,

am an owner of the Canon rebel SL1(100D) and have been using the kit lens 18-55m f3.5-5.6 to shoot. The camera is a wonderful travel camera but am thinking of buying some 2 new lenses to add some variety and would like to seek your advice.

I would like to get 2 more lenses, ideally affordable options:

1) street/walkabout lenses to add some variety:

canon 35mm f2 vs canon 40mm f2.8 pancake.

did considered the nifty-fifty 50mm f1.8 but think it would be abit too tight on the crop sensor

2) wide angle lens:

i will be travelling to iceland and hope to get some photos of the northern lights. was looking at the canon 24mm f2.8 pancake but not sure if this would suffice.

Am thinking that the canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 might be the better option from a focal length perspective but its more expensive and slower than the 24mm.  not sure if it justifies the extra cost.

just wanted to hear out your thoughts on these and any other recommendations

thanks in advance for the advice and i would look to get some much needed practice with my purchases ahead of my trip!
