EDIT: This lens will not focus in live view on my D750, I'm personally OK with this but I docked half a star for the inconvenience and wide open fringing.
I have one too. I like how smooth bokeh it has. Though I dislike color fringing on highlights (newer Art version is better in fringing but perhaps not as good in bokeh and not as good in weight).
On D610 in LV it focuses if aperture is set to f/2.8 or smaller. It does not focus at f/1.4. Out of my few lenses focus is least reliable on the Sigma 50, but I still got a lot of great pictures out of it.
I think Sigma might have newer firmware for that would allow to focus in LV with newer cameras. Talk to service center to resolve. Unfortunately Sigma dock does not support older lenses for firmware updates.
I just tried smaller apertures in liveview and still no AF! Unfortunate, I might contact Sigma and see about the firmware though, that would be nice if it can be done without a cost!
